I have a Dell Dimension 4100.. I have never been able to run a complete scan disk on it as long as I"ve had it (about 4 yrs now). It will stop, start again, get so far, stop, go back to the beginning and so on and so on.

Then I'll get a little dialog box popping up saying something is causing this (doesn't say what) and do I want to continue so I'll click "yes" and it will start and do the same thing.

I've tried shutting down Zone Alarm and Norton Anti-Virus, and that did no good.

I would love to hear suggestions from anyone who has an idea as to why this is happening.
