Select - > Start => Settings => Control Panel. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
Select McAfee VirusScan from the list of installed applications. If you are running Windows 98, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, or Windows Me, click Add/Remove. If you are running Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP Professional, click Remove
Click Yes. The VirusScan Maintenance Wizard will appear:
tried it, with a couple variances in the boxes, but got through it, I hope.
this is the first time I'm using this Community Forum, and in fact, this system, and on this first try, an 110percent happy about it. Nice to know there are kindred Dellers and Microsofter out there sharing our concerns.

Select the Remove radio button, then click Next.

Click Finish.
Reboot your computer.
