Hi Just got a new Dell XPS 8700 i7 3.6GHz w/16GB ram and windows 8.1 from Dell. I've installed about 500 GB of programs that I've either bought or had stored in Libraries online. The problem that's driving me nuts is I'm looking for a program that I know I installed and used once. There are NO ICONS to link this program anywhere in the windows Screens. I did a manual search through the C:\ drive and thankfully found it after a 1/2 hour of looking.  This almost made me lose it wondering wth happened to it.  Now I'm wondering how many programs I installed that I haven't thought about yet that have no startup icon. What is the deal and how do I fix it? Is there some magic search to go through the system and identify these programs. I looked in the control panel under programs and it was not even there I just fail to understand this. HELP & TY.
