Alienware 510K keyboard, switch swap

Hey guys and gals, I was wondering is it possible to swap the oem cherry Mx red switches to another cherry Mx switch? In my case specifically blue or green. Thanks in advance.

I believe the switches are soldered to the pcb of the keyboard so this isn't plug and play.

Also, the different colors may represent different soldering pin layouts (in addition to other aspects like height, red is low profile) making the swap a physical impossibility.

Switch color is feel, Pinout is universal.

As long as you get low profile switches and have a soldering iron and a screwdriver it is very easy to swap switches. Tutorials all over YouTube. You can follow a tutorial for a different keyboard, basically the same.

    MX Switch Guide

    - Regular ones

    - Silent ones

    - Speed ones

    - Low Profile

If they are soldered on the board, it would be way more practical to just purchase a new keyboard. It does not look by the documentation on that specific keyboard that they are interchangeable.
