I recently purchased a R10 system (still in production) and meant to order Dual Channel memory, but instead ordered the 3400MHz memory, which is apparently is Single Channel. Does anyone know what that 3400MHz single module of memory is? I'm thinking it's Kingston HyperX, memory, but not 100% sure. My plan is to get another single module to match up with the one that will be in the system to make it Dual Channel.
Buying faster ram does not make your machine significantly faster. The higher the speed the more wait states they add so its all nonsense. There is no such thing as 3400 Mhz being single channel. You got single channel based on the amount of ram you ordered based on price. Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (Intel® XMP) support is about overclock and over voltage on DDR3/DDR4 memory. It can damage ram and cpu and reduce its life.
Overclocking and XMP for RAM will reduce the life of your PC. It will make it unstable and crash. If you cannot get back to stable speed / voltage/ clock it means the damage is permanent.

Note the retail amazon hyperx fury 3400 is different from the oem Dell Hyperx fury 3400. You might be able to run them dual channel, but you wouldn't be able to run XMP profiles if you mixed retail and oem brands of HyperX.
I don't have the system yet and the invoice doesn't show a detailed configuration list However, I spoke with someone on chat and they said it will be one 3400MHz 16GB module of Single Channel memory. That person was probably just reading off of Dell's sites system details though, so who knows.

It's frustrating how they can't change the order in production. I was hoping they could just swap it out for two modules of Dual Channel 3200Mhz as there's no cost difference.
What I'll have to do is purchase it myself after the fact! I was thinking of G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL14 Dual Channel Memory Kit 1.35V (F4-3200C14D-16GFX)
Exact same issue with me. Who in their right mind would put single channel memory in an Aurora Ryzen R10? This is completely unacceptable. If we could just buy another DIMM of RAM of the same size, speed and brand, that would be great. But we can't, since the memory Dell uses is not the same as the memory sold by HyperX. This is awful So now I am stuck with 16G at 3400MHz, but can't do anything else, but throw it away if I want to have dual channel 16G or 32G. Come on Dell??? What is going on with you guys? So actually the free upgrade is a downgrade. Why do you offer the dual channel for 32G/64G upgrades but not the 16G. That is so misleading! You guys should reimburse us the RAM so we can buy new RAM for our PCs. I've had my Aurora for less than a week and I am very frustrated with the mistake you've done. Why don't you write *CAUTION - THIS UPGRADE IS A DOWNGRADE DUE TO SINGLE CHANNEL*? You definitely should. No one buying an Alienware Aurora would want such a downgrade, but it seems some of us were victims.
Yep! I picked up 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3600MHz Desktop Memory (CMK16GX4M2D3600C18), which cost me $200! In fairness, they said they'll reimburse me $140, we'll see.
I made this same mistake. I paid more for 16GB 3400mhz and thought it was dual channel because every single other option was, and there's a lot of text squeezed into those selection boxes.
I'm not happy. Can you guys post what you plan to do?

2400 3200 3600 4166 ram is all Mhz Myth nonsense.
Anything more than 2133 is XMP
You cannot Force a machine to use XMP when your bios or chipset or processor does not support it.
