Aurora R14, liquid cooling upgrade

Hey everyone, I'm a newer owner of a Aurora R14 Ryzen. I've looked at a few posts about putting a 240 AIO inside of the Aurora R13 for the Intel variants. I was curious if anyone has upgraded their Aurora R14 Ryzen with an aftermarket cooler? I saw a post with a 240 Deepcool installed within the Aurora R13. Would this work on the Aurora R14?

Can the Alienware motherboard with the Ryzen 5900 setup accept a cooler with LGA 1700? It doesn't look like the typical AM4 socket setup would work. Does anybody have a link to something that could help?

    I recall XPS 8930 user upgrades Dell stock cooler using Corsair H60 which can directly use Dell M3 backplate without need to remove motherboard. 8930 Dell motherboard also uses Dell M3 backplate attached to backside, similar to R14.  Therefore You can look into Corsair 240 AIO such as H100 etc. as one additional option.  Corsair uses double end M3 studs aka stand-off that can directly screw onto Dell M3 backplate.  You just to have find the correct stud height for LGA1700.   This may be easier than buying generic M3 double end screws.  This video (2:15) shows Corsair backplate highly similar to Dell backplate.  You can just pretend R14 already has the Corsair backplate in place.

    Just to reiterate, R14 uses LGA1700 mounting hole spacing for AMD socket.  Therefore R14 user installing a Corsair LGA1700 aio is similar to R13 user installing the same Corsair AIO (the only subtle difference being Dell backplate vs chassis studs).

    I ordered that same DeepCool 240mm setup, but I could not get any of the mounting screws to work correctly. The only other thing I could think of was I might have needed to take the entire motherboard out and use the Intel bracket it had. From the pictures and the limited information he had on that particular post it didn't say he had to do any of that when installing.

    I have seen an R14 with the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240mm AOI installed, but I am unable to locate that information at this moment.

     thanks for trying to find it, though; I'm curious if I should go ahead and try to install the Arctic Liquid Freezer and try it myself. I tried the Deepcool one, but none of the mounting screws would fit within the Alienware motherboard, so I had to put the old non-cryo liquid 120 back in.

    Actually Dell was sloppy enough to design R14 heatsink mounting hole spacing to be the same as R13, as 13/14 were released simultaneously. Dell part list shows R14/13 share same liquid cooler Dell 80H81 (non-cryotech). So R14 is c/w lga1700 cooler that works with Dell M3 backplate.  The Z height of AM4 is different from LGA1700, but Dell was nonchalant about this and just stack an intel cooler on amd cpu.

    Do you know of anyone else installing a 240 AIO within an R14? I've seen one with the Intel version, but the DeepCool AIO didn't work with any of the installation hardware given.

    You mean this one on Reddit. If that was done smoothly you should have no trouble replicating it in R14. 13/14 have very similar chassis hardware, the only major difference being motherboard and cpu.  NB: R13 motherboard has no attached backplate suggesting heatsink is directly mounted on chassis studs, whereas R14 board has an attached backplate on the other side.

    I just watched LS520 install video.  I understand better now. Both R13, R14 install pose some challenge due to either Dell threaded stud on chassis floor or backplate glued to motherboard back side. So the AIO backplate with screws cannot be used obviously. But you can install your own M3 screw (double end) on Dell backplate, put the AIO stand-off (little cylinder spacer) on the screw then mount the liquid pump.  Use the AIO nut to fasten the pump on the M3 screw stud. I think the LS520 nut will probably work with the M3 screw.

    Ok, that is some good information to have redxps! Appreciate the support, I guess now its off to find an AIO cooler that has M3 screw support, which I'm assuming won't be possible.
