17 R4, battery

Hi there, 

My Alienware battery wont charge, once you start the laptop the battery bar moves few times as its charging but then stops, I have tried everything, uninstall battery drivers, the BIOS is the latest, even gone back to the previous bios and upgraded again, unplugged everything and kept the power button pressed, ran a f12 diagnostics, everything suggests the batter is ok event the wear is only 5%, can you help please. The power adaptor is ok, fully working.

    Hi @bak1

     

    This could be related to the battery, DC Jack IN or the motherboard. 

    If the system is still in warranty, you can send me a private message with the Service Tag so I can assist you further. If not, you can try by replacing the parts yourself or call our out of warranty department at 866 287 6727 opt#4 for more repair options.

    Hi I have the same problem and it's out of warranty, did you get a fix?

     

    I have just ordered 2nd battery DC Jack and charger off eBay, worth the £70 just to try fix it. Mine is at 5% battery life now. But works fine plugged in. Hope it's not motherboard.
