Go to SolutionChanging IP's without Serial Cable
Hey All,
I have a Celerrra NS-120 with a CX4 Backend. The situation is, this array is being moved from one location to another and the new location will have a completely different network.
I'm wondering if there is a way I can change IP's remotely without needing to serial connect to the console.
If I change IP's in old location, I'll lose connectivity and not be able to power down gracefully. If I wait until new building I won't be able to hit the old IP's on new network.
Any thoughts outside of connecting to console directly?
Thanks!

If you know Celerra and Linux very well you could try to use the other Ethernet port that’s normally used to connect to the secondary control station.
Alternatively get a small terminal server – any old Cisco or Unix system with a serial port will do.
There are also inexpensive Ethernet to serial boxes – I haven’t tried them but don’t see why they wouldn’t work.
