Mcdata Eclipse 1620 ISL to Brocade 16B2 FC switch

Hi guys,

Any help on this problem would be great. My setup is as followings:

I am trying to run Mirrowview A from a CX380 array to a CX700 array. I am using MCdata 1620 FC-IP routers at each location. On site A I have connected the Mcdata directly to SPA and SPB port 3 on each processor. On site B I had to use the switch fabric which meant I connected the Mcdata via an ISL to the Brocade 16B2 switch. The status of the R-port and E-port on the router and switch is ok. I have set the fabric mode to be brocade, zoning policy is no zone append on the router. I have created 2 zones on the mcdata. I have added ports A3 from local and remote Msan to zone A and B3 ports to zone B. I have exported the zones and save configuration with no errors. The problem is the ports on the arrays are not logging in when i manage mirrorview connections. Please guys any help would be great. Do I need to use zone append? Or do some zoing on the switch?

Thanks

Paul

    Hi Bob,

I will give this ago tomorrow and see if it resolves my issue. Bob, do I need to do zoning on the switch level or when I zone the SP ports in on the Mcdata is this zone sync with the fabric?

    Thanks,

    Paul.

    Hi Bob,

That worked great. I am currently doing data replication from 2 sites. One last remaining issue I am now facing. We have 2 production sites and 1 DR site. At the DR site I have installed 2 Mcdata 1620 IP FC routers. Router 1 is up and running on the 2 fabrics via ISL's. When I attempt to add the second router onto each fabric I am getting the following error message for the R-port status

""Port isolated: Proxy Domain(s) in use Description: Configured Proxy Domain ID is being used by other switch in the fabric. R_Port is isolated.Action: Configure new proxy Domain ID or change the domain Id of the switch which is using the Proxy Domain ID as its domain Id. "

I have check all the switches and routers and they all have unique DID's.

    Can some one please help.

    Thanks,
    Paul.
