It's been 14 days since my return got delivered, and I haven't even gotten a confirmation from Dell that it was received or that a refund being sent. I'm now a week away from having to pay interest charges on something that has not been in my possesion for 17 days. Did I fall through the crack here, or is this normal for dell these days? I remember this taking less than a week a few years ago.
Apologies that it's taking a while, the agent that issued you the return authorization should have explained things to you more clearly. I'll try. Returns normally take between 30 - 45 days to process. It depends on the type of payment. These times are estimated, but can happen faster or slower depending on circumstances. It normally takes about 10 days for the product to return to the return facility. From there, the product sits with all the other thousands that have been returned and gets scanned in, this takes about 10 days. Once that is done, it can take another 10 days for the financial office to generate the credit memo and notify your bank. It can take your bank a complete billing cycle to credit your account.
Also, if you purchased through Dell Financial Services, it can take approximately 45 days.

Immediately notify your credit card company that you have a disputed charge. You will not have to pay interest on that charge while waiting for settlement. It does take time.
Meantime contact Dell directly to make sure the return was received. Did you use the Dell return label with a tracking number?
The time keeps changing. I am awaiting a refund. It's been 20 days (14 business days) since Dell received the return. First I was told I would receive my refund 8-10 business days after the item was received by Dell. Then 10-15 business days. Now up to 30 (business or calendar?) days from the date of shipping the return. This is unacceptable. If you have stacks of returns waiting to be processed, then you should hire more people. I hardly ever return an item, and have had much quicker service from other companies.
Like the post above, I will also say that under refund status for this order, it says "awaiting return shipment" even though customer service has acknowledged receipt of the item (I have tracking #).
For my reference, please click on the message tab next to your avatar– click “New Message” & search for my Dell username (Dell-Sreejith R) & send a private message with the order number, registered name & email address.
