I placed an order for a monitor on Nov-8 and the very next day the order gets cancelled. When I checked the order yesterday and called I was told of verification issues. But not why. Exactly what tripped it? If I don't know what caused it to get flagged, then I can't fix it or prevent it from happening again. I have no idea if I'm getting refunded or not; the payment went through on my bank statement. Please help.
I ordered a AW2721D back in November only for Dell to mess up up the entire order. When I placed my order, it was canceled due to “Verification reasons.” It sounds like Dell was trying to finically verify payment after the order was placed. So let me make this clear. As a merchant, PAYMENTS should be verified BEFORE an order is placed NOT after. That's like buying a car from a dealership then driving it off the lot only to get it repossessed the next day because they couldn’t verify payment. I saw countless other reviews online with the same issue. Does Dell not understand how logistically flawed this practice is?
It is not Dell's prerogative to verify payments online. That's why we have financial institutions. That’s why we have the Visa network, Mastercard etc... it sounds like Dell, as a merchant, was trying to create their “own” system of verification on top of financial institutions that already do the job. So, if payment gets accepted through your bank, it can still get reject from Dell’s side. So, stop telling people to call their bank because their bank is not the problem! Financial or identity discrimination can be based off the region where you live.
Speaking of which.
WHY does Dell have North American customer service in India? Why doesn’t the North American region have their own customer service?? This is probably the reason why orders get flagged. I place an order outside “their” region which gets rejected because it’s viewed as a foreign transaction on “their” end. How ironic. *Cough cough* “Verification issues”
Aliya K from customer service lied to me saying Google Pay was not accept by Dell. If Dell doesn’t accept Google Pay, why would it be a payment option on the Dell website? A female also hung up the phone multiple times in the middle of the call for no reason. Whether it was her or not I can’t confirm as I got the name only from an Email.
I had to verify myself using my college email which was highly irregular. I never seen a merchant do that. But tell me why it took 30 emails and a dozen phone calls to order this product? When Dell cancelled it the first time because of Verification, I ordered again and it was sent to UPS, but it wasn’t marked shipped. When I called and told them of the issue, they cancelled the first order and started a second order by sending me a second monitor. Why they didn’t simply call the courier and found out where the first package went, I have no idea.
I eventually got both monitors in the mail after some time even the one that wasn’t marked shipped. But check this out. When I called, on Dell's side, it looks like a replacement order and not a duplicate. In other words, when I called to get the second monitor shipped back, they had no Idea they sent two products my way. On their end it looked like one. Customer service was absolutely confused as why I wanted to send my only monitor back to them when in fact was trying to send a second one back to them. I had two AW2721D unopened boxes in my home. I could’ve kept both of them, but I was nice enough to send one of them back. Dell paid to send the second one back. UPS sent me a bill for sending it back. I posted the bill on the community website only for it to be ignored. I had to Call UPS and get them the cancel the charge because Dell completely ignored my request to pay for sending it back.
Like a job interview. The first impression is the most important. But in the case, Dell has made a horrible impression on a first-time buyer of Dell products. I will never buy from Dell again. I have never seen a merchant conduct business like this before. Not Apple, Microsoft, Newegg etc.
How about try raising your ratings on the Better Business Bureau. Right now it's sitting at ZERO STARS. You can't talk for a company that's performing poorly. You guys are great at leading the tech industry (Sarcasm). Y'all are at the bottom of all the other big tech companies as far as competition. I'm pretty sure everyone will agree Dell is Garbage. Get your ratings up on BBB then maybe customers will start respecting you.
