Right, so oftentimes when folks see this kind of behavior, the first step is to confirm that you have properly configured your R710 to direct SNMP alerts to the IP address or host name of your OME server.  

You can go into the SNMP properties setting in services.msc on the R710 and make sure your alerts are going to the OME box.  There might even be a screen shot of this in the First Time Setup OME tutorial (in the OME console) but I don't have that handy.

You can also use the Dell Troubleshooting Tool, installed on the OME desktop to confirm SNMP alert reception on the OME box.  

But that's a good start, it should be something simple like that.

We have 700 odd devices registered in OME and its been working fine.We have been through and checked the snmp service config settings on this server and it looks correct. In fact there are plenty of information snmp messages arriving on OME from this server.

Ok, sorry I wasn't clear.

So from this particular box, you _do_ get some SNMP alerts correctly in OME, but just not a few as mentioned above, yes?

Are you managing via OMSA or WSMan?

If OMSA, one thing I do is go into the temperature threshold settings in OMSA and fiddle with them to force generate a temp alert.  If you have the ability to do this test on this box, give it a try because you should certainly get an alert sent to OME in that case.

And you may check OME to be sure you don't have any ignore filters set up that might catch alerts from this box unexpectedly.
