What is the automatic performance load balancer(APLB) ?

Hello all,

Would you like to tell me what is the APLB in equallogic array? I read APLB in "eql configuration guide".

and how to configure it?

thanks.

Take a look to TR1070 - EqualLogic PS Series Architecture: Load Balancers. (not sure if there is newer one)

APLB stands for "Automatic Performance Load Balancer" and not MPLB (Manual). So there is no configuration needed or possible. You need more than one Array.

APLB manages the distribution of pages (blocks) within a pool. This load balancer works primarily based on latency metrics. If APLB detects that a pool array has unevenly more workload to handle it will take care of it as well as when it detects high latencies on a pool member (> 20ms?).

IIRC, the CLB and NLB  comes first and over the years there was huge improments.
