Solutions Enabler Command or User Authorization

emfwsmc1 Symm # symmaskdb -sid 6035 list database <=== command entered

The specified device masking session handle is invalid <===error received

How can I get the symmaskdb command authorized for user use or me authorized to execute it? I can execute "other" sym command like symcfg, symdev, etc. The root ID can execute without a problem.

    Hi,

I do not get this error, but we have set setuid and setgid bits on the executable:

    chmod 6750 /opt/emc/SYMCLI/V5.5.0/bin/symmaskdb
    chown root: /opt/emc/SYMCLI/V5.5.0/bin/symmaskdb

Make sure the storage admins are in the storagegroup.

    hope this helps.

Installed new version of Solutions Enabler and made appropriate changes.
