G15 5520 RAM upgrade compatibility
Hi All,
I am wondering if there is a BIOS setting I need to change or so to upgrade the RAM? I have tried both 2x16GB Corsair and 2x16GB Crucial which is listed as compatible for my laptop but it will not post. It works fine again when I put the old RAM in.

I have tried these 2 kits:
Corsair Vengeance SODIMM 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 48000MHz Memory - Black - CMSX32GX5M2A4800C40 | Mwave
Crucial 32GB (2x 16GB) DDR5 4800MHZ SODIMM Laptop Memory - CT2K16G48C40S5 | Mwave

So how did anyone fix this issue as I have had the same thing happen here.

I got mine working in the end, I had to really follow the instructions exactly including disconnecting the battery which I didn't want to do for fear of damaging the ribbon cable. Once I did all that it took a little while for the first boot but I've had it with 32gb for a few months now without any issues. I'm running the crucial kit I linked in the OP.

RAM memory compatibility for G15 5520 - Dell Community
It's the instructions from Ernani in this thread. I followed it exactly, the first boot was slow but it's worked fine since.

I am having the same issue with the upgrade on Inspiron 14 -upgrading from 1 4GB to two 16GB Ram and they are not detected. Swapped it back with 4GB and worked fine. I called Dell Support for compatibility and was confirmed to work on my laptop. I can't seem to get feedback as to why the upgrade does not work.
