Isilon and VBlock

It's really like peanut butter and chocolate isn't it?  The best of both worlds!

With the recent announcements around availability of Isilon from VCE there have been a number of questions around the process and configurations.

VCE requires Isilon to provide all of the usual things for a cluster; nodes, cables, IB switches.  But also we need to include our own racks and preferable cabling from the nodes to the VCE provided 5548 switches that should be installed TOR in this rack, be sure to reserve space in the rack for these.  The pair of 5548s uplink to the vblock switches via 8 ports per switch, the remaining 32 ports are available for Isilon node connectivity.

Specifics are in the attached document, be sure to work closely with your VCE teams when sizing, configuring and preparing to order these solutions.

Not to mention the Isilon option pairing on Vblock Specialized Systems for Extreme Applications in VMware Horizon View and Citrix environments. http://www.vce.com/products/specialized/extreme-apps
