Dell Latitude E5430 Errors on boot

Hi all,

I’m experiencing a rather weird issue on a Dell Latitude e5430 laptop, the laptop boots fine into the windows even when the error shows during boot.

There are two errors which display, the first says FW Status Recovery Error and the second says underneath the first one, ME Invocation Flow Error and this displays twice.

Windows continues to boot as normal and functions properly, I have replaced the CMOS battery and also updated the BIOS to the lastest A21 release. I did notice that the Intel Management Engine Firmware update did not complete as it stayed at 0% during the BIOS update however upon finishing the actual BIOS update itself, it said it was successful and rebooted the machine as normal.

What could be the issue?

Many thanks in advance for any help!

This web page should help. It is a corrupt Intel ME firmware issue. Other users have had success by removing the CMOS battery to clear the settings.

I am not a Dell employee...I am forum volunteer

Serious work on an E5430 and constantly building and working on an i5-6500 Desktop

    Hi there,

i’ve seen that webpage, how do I go about updating the Intel ME firmware?

As I stated, I have actually removed the CMOS battery, I left it unplugged from the mainboard for 24 hours as I ordered a new one yesterday and it arrived today, I installed the new one and the same issue still occurs.

I haven’t tried updating the ME firmware, how do I do that?

    Many thanks!
