8800GTS in an E521
Has anyone managed to get an 8800GTS in an E521? I know it won't fit normally but i'm sure with some modifications it could work. If anyone's done it i'd like to know what needs to be done. The other question is: Can you take all the components out of a dell and put them into a new case? If i can't fit an 8800GTS in my E521 case i'd like to get a new case and motherboard and just swap everything over so i can fit an 8800 card. Is this possible? Thanks

Do you think it would be worth doing? I've got an athlon x2 5000+, 2Gb ram, 250Gb hard drive and an X-fi sound card. would i just be wasting my money on getting the new components?- That would be up to youQuality psu that would be sufficient for a single card system $95 ARDecent case $60Motherboard $100, you'll be able to overclock the cpuCPU cooler basic $21OS oem version, probably have to purchase a piece of hardware with it $77$353 to make it your own and add the card you want.This is just a generalized list of the components neccesary, I'm fairly certain that they would work together but I give no guarantee.

After upgrading my psu, I installed the 8800GTS 640 MB in my E521. I now use the 4870.
You need to cut off a strip at the back of the case to fit dual-slot cards. You need to break off some of the plastic surrounding the cpu cooler to fit the card inside the case, and you need to shorten one row of the motherboard heatsink (I just shortened them with pliers).
