Hmm well on the main site it shows the H2C cooling unit in the 730 so they definately do it.

 

Did the person you were talking to specifically state it didn't have the H2C unit? As I can't see how a "new way" without it would be better. :S

 

Its a nice gesture with the replacement but it sounds like, (as usual) they don't know what theyre on about.

 

Don't let them pressure you into anything, make sure everythings fine before ya make a decision, or itd be hard to resolve after.

I should have said that I am in the UK and cannot find H2C anywhere on their UK website any longer. Curiouser and curiouser...

 

I would normally be willing to trust someone, but I have great reason not to at this moment. Especially as they first tried to offer me a 630 as a replacement for my 720 :smileysurprised:

 

The man on the phone explained that the H2C is not up for the job of cooling down the components. I really have no idea what their idea of a better alternative is... he said something about how the new components are heat obsorbant and that the fan is bigger...

Quite honestly I'm happy with the heat and noise on my current 720 but I do need a replacement PC.

They offered you a 630? Hahahahahhaha. Read the two stickies about that, and all the other problems people post with it here. :P

You can clearly see the H2C unit inside, it also mentions it on one of the latter pages. Maybe the H2C unit comes in it as standard now? I'd get proper confirmation first though and have a deep scan of the components on the page.

That sounds utter....I can't even say it. Demand to speak to someone else who knwos what theyre actually on about, or just shoot straight back at him with "Oh really? Why is it shown in a picture on the site then?"

 

Its true that the H2C is only supposed to cool the processor (unless theyve changed the new one) but still, it sounded more like he was just trying to pressure you into a decision by telling you a pile of.......

 

As said make absolutely sure everythings fine before you agree to anything, its good that theyre offering to replace it with a better model but still, ya don't want to get trapped into a bad situation.

What was wrong with your 720 by the way?

Maggieosh, just to be clear: The 730, just as the 720, has some versions with the H2C cooling system and others without it.  If your 720 has the H2C model, the replacement should be one with the H2C system as well, if they don't have the 720 with H2C as they have told you (this is probably true!), demand the 730 with the H2C cooling system (they do have it!).

I would jump at a chance to trade in a 720 for a 730 H2C cooling or not. The 45nm chips really don't need water cooling anyways.
