Bluetooth mouse erratic.

Hi All,

Still buzzing from my week old XPS 420 but one issue that I cannot seem to rectify is that my Dell Bluetooth mouse acts totally erratic on the hard XPS supplied mouse mat and even on my old sponge/cloth mouse mat about 10/15% of the time the cursor goes crazy.

The batteries are new and the Dell software says that the mouse is good.

I would have a Nokia mobile phone connected via bluetooth, would that cause interference for the mouse?

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Thanks in advance.

no the image for your pc was built who knows when...

the easiest way is via Dell support center since it recognizes your service tag. You can simply go to Dell.com here and enter service tag model etc...

I personally updated all drivers, BIOS, and firmware, but others believe 'don't fix what aint broke'.

I also get my video drivers from Nvidia (8800gt) not Dell, they are more recent....

On a different note, you have done the microsoft updates correct?

I don't have the bluetooth / keyboard mouse package, but do have an older microsoft bluetooth mouse. It works OK (still think wireless/usb are more responsive).

You may want to "forget" the phone and test for a bit to eliminate that as a possibility. If you still have the issues then you know that is not the problem.

I assume you are running the latest drivers from Dell...

    Thanks for that.

I have turned off the Bluetooth on the Nokia and on the XPS and it is still happening in particular on the hard XPS supplied mat. It is like the cursor is drunk.

Regards your sugestion about using the latest drivers, I assumed that as the machine was only shipped a week ago that it would be up to date. It is worth a try, how would I check to see if I have the latest driver, via the Device Manager?
