dell dimension 3000

I purchased a computer from a police auction and when I boot it up it automatically goes to the login

The simple way to reset the password is here: pogostick.net/.../ntpasswd

A walkthrough of how to use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor is here: pogostick.net/.../ntpasswd

The newest version of the program (5-11-2011) is available to create either a bootable USB and CD. The older version is available to create a bootable floppy.

Please give model of computer and operating system; i.e., Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista, or 7.

Do you need to reset the Windows password?

If requires a password and you don't have it, I think you're better off reinstalling.
