Dimension 9150 USB Controller error
I ran the hardware diagnostics test from the Dell Resource CD to make sure everything was OK after being unable to successfully do a clean install of Windows XP Media Centre operating system which hangs 9 minutes before completion.
The following may have nothing to do with the problem of installing the OS but I would like to fix it anyway.
Error on USB Controller 1. Error code 4E00:032B. Message - USB Controller 1 shows an over current indication on Port A.
I had already removed all peripherals with the exception of the monitor, and the keyboard and mouse which are Logitek wireless, connected by USB. Unfortunately I do not have a PS/2 port on my PC so had to keep the keyboard/mouse connected via USB.
Can anyone please help with this error and what I can do to fix it. Incidently, the keyboard and mouse work just fine.

What color are the diagnostic LEDs on the front of the tower when you boot up? If not all green, look up error codes here. Have you tried moving the keyboard and mouse to different (rear) USB ports on the tower?
Check all USB connectors on the tower to make sure none are broken, or deformed allowing the contacts inside the connectors to touch each other.
If all connectors look ok, power off and disconnect the PC from the wall. Press/hold the power button for ~15 sec. Open the case and remove the battery from the motherboard. Press/hold the power button again for ~30 sec. Leave the PC unplugged and without the battery for a couple of hours. Reinstall the battery (right-side-up!) and run the diagnostic tests from the CD again.
