Dimension E310 does not boot up
I have a 1 month old Dimension E310, working fine until yesterday. The power indicator light is off. When press the power, the tower comes on for a moment then shuts off. I worked with tech support last night--did everything except open the tower. (I'm not sure of myself to do that). Does Dell have anyone local I can take this to, or do I send it back for repairs....Support did not understand what I needed. What's my next step..... Help please Betsy

1betsy1What is the reading of the power button LED, green, blinking green, solid yellow, blinking yellow? What is the sequence of the diagnostic LEDs at the front panel of the case?

- If it's just a month old system, shouldn't there still be a on-the-spot service agreement in place? I'm a little confused about what kind of service you get in the US. If I e.g. call customer support and if the problem sounds serious, then Dell sends out a techie to my adress the next day that fixes/replaces any problematic hardware. How does it work for you people?
/Kris - Dell does not have any local tech or any place where you can send the computer for repairs... your only choice is to work with the tech support.. if possible have a friend or someone from your family who is comfortable with opening computers call up tech support... or another option is to call up cust care.
hi,
you may have an onsite hardware warranty contract on your system which includes onsite service only for the replacement of malfunctioning parts.. the troubleshooting however has to be done over the phone.
but since the computer is only a month old and if you are not comfortable working on your brand new computer, my personal suggestion would be to speak to the cust care dept and see if any kind of arrangements can be made for onsite service...
hope you get some resolution fast...
regards,
Gary J
