Driver updates
Hello, I bought a Dell computer around 1.5 years ago and have never actually thought about updating drivers etc until just now. When I go to the driver downloads section and enter my service tag, there is quite a large list of upgrades available, some urgent, some recommended, some optional. Do all of these upgrades apply to my system or do I need to make some kind of check before just downloading them all? I just wanna double check so that I dont crash my computer by downloading the wrong drivers..
Btw, sorry that the question does not really apply to the video segment alone, but I could not find any place for my specific question.

Tippler - unfortunately, that's not true. It lists all the possible hardware configurations for the model. For whatever silly reason using your service tag will not narrow the choices.
RK - You'll need to know what components you have and then pick out the appropriate drivers. But, the general rule is "if it aint' broke, dont fix it" - often what Dell considers "urgent" is only urgent for a specific configuration, so check the descriptions to see if you really need it.
XP will usually just spit a wrong driver back at you, but be very careful with firmware - if a firmware or BIOS update goes wrong (rare, but it happens) it can render the component useless.
