Fan problems
The computer's fan is not clicking on at all and upon booting up a prompt appears to either his F1 to continue or F2 to enter setup. The system event log says that the fan on the cpu is 'out of range.' Performance is slow upon booting. I followed the recommendations here (
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kb/en/document?dn=1049833&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19 ) to enter setup when prompted, clear the event log, make sure Num Caps and Scroll lock were all on and hit alt+e, saving the changes made upon exiting but this did nothing to resolve the problem, nor did unplugging the fan from the motherboard and reattaching it. I'm hoping that I won't have to replace anything, but it's looking more like I will, unless someone here has a solution.
