GX745 USB Mouse Problem

Good Morning All,

I have run into this really odd probem with some GX745's that my work uses. We image the PC's on a KVM swtich and they are fine. When we bring them to a persons desk and hook them up, the mouse works for all of 5 seconds, then stops. Change USB ports, works for 5 seconds, then stops. The USB Keyboard works just fine. We've come across about 7 or 8 PC's with this issue.

Has anyone else run into this problem? What could be the cause?

Is the KVM using USB or PS/2?

    When I started using a 745 with a PS/2 KVM I used a PS/2 to USB adapter.

The keyboard would work fine however the mouse would stop working.

I ended up using the KVM for the keyboard and CRT but left the Dell USB mouse connected to a 745 USB port.

So, I have a keyboard, CRT, KVM switch and two mice.  After a while you get used to it.

Forget trying to boot to DOS. The keyboard will work as is but as soon as you try and load any USB drivers the mouse will try and wake up then after a few seconds hose up everything. So if you plan to boot to DOS set the mouse aside out of the way first.

Try hooking a USB mouse directly to the P.C. to see what happens.

    Let me know what happens.

The KVM has a PS/2 Keyboard and mouse hooked up to it. Then running from the KVM to the different PC's is a standard network patchcord that connects to an adaptor that has a VGA and USB connecter on it.
