Video editing....

I have a dimension 3000 and just bought it recently and just bought a new panasonic GS-12 camcorder and was wanting to download some video's from it to the computer.  Is the movie maker program on my computer a pretty good editing source?  I'm not wanting to get to technical with it, but do want to be able to edit some things and maybe put some music in a video and some credit's or something of that nature.

Or...should I just forget the movie maker all together and go with something like pinnacle 9 or another movie editing program like that?

Thanks.

    Hi mpowerstang,

You would be better off with the Pinnacle program, not that Movie Maker is a bad program, but if you want to burn to DVD you will need a program that will do that.  Good Luck, Doug

Well, my computer doesn't have a DVD burner, but I have heard that the pinnacle 9 is awesome!!  I think for right now I might try the movie maker program that's already on there, I'm just going to be posting video's on the net, so maybe it will do the job.

    Thanks for the info.

I can save it on a CD-R??  I don't have a DVD burner...How does it save a video on a regular cd-r disk?  If you don't mind me asking...  And also, can I save it to the cd-r and then take it to another computer to download onto the net, or do I have to stay with the same computer?  I'm kinda new, so, sorry for the stupid questions.

In Movie Maker along the left side of choices there is a line that says save to disk, if you have a cd writer you will be able to make a disk, if you were to make a dvd then you would need a burner and a program like Pinnacle to convert it to MPEG2 for a dvd.  Burn it on a CDRW to transfer to another computer.  There is alot of good reading here:  www.videohelp.com

Hey, thanks.  One more question for you (I think), do you know of a good place to host video's so that I can post them up on the net?

    Thanks again.
