Will this work???
I have an IBM laptop (win 2000) and a new Dell Dimension 8200 (win XP). I have an image of my desktop backed up on CDs. There are some appliations on my laptop that I would like on my desktop but I don't have the install discs.
Can I image my laptop's HD on to CDs, copy that image on to my Dell, boot into safe mode after imaging and delete all laptop specific devices and reboot to minimize conflicts.
Sounds insane but will it work? Worse comes to worse I can just re-image my Dell with my backup.
