Won't boot from cd rom
Bought a new hard drive, have my bootable xp cd, formatted the hard drive, did everything the web told me to do to set up BIOS( , boot menu, atapi/1st device,
I also downloaded bootdisk to try to install xp thru floppy with cd support.
With boot disk I load driver for cdrom but 'setup.exe" on D drive(cd) will not work in dos mode. Wha?
If i install without floppy and BIOS set to cd boot, it tries to read floppy and either gives me invalid disk/ insert disk in drive 'a' or NTLDR missing.
Help me obi-won, help me....anyone...anyone...Bueller

I can't boot from an empty hard drive. My problem is no matter what I do to my BIOS
it won't boot from CD-ROM, only floppy, hence I can't load my OS onto the hard drive.
I even filled 6 floppies for my XP but got an error and couldn't continue.
Any other ideas oh wisest of forums?
