A problem with Laptop charging.
I have an Inspiron N5110; Windows 7: Home Premium and so far it's been running fine. However, I'm starting to have trouble with charging the battery. Whenever I plug my laptop in a message pops up saying, "The AC power adapter type cannot be determined."
Unplugging the computer from the charger, and the charger from the wall and then replugging everything after a few minutes isn't working. The battery, after spending an hour to get it to charge, still refuses to charge. I unplugged the charger from the laptop, then unplugged it from the outlet, and then reseat out my battery all to no avail. looked at the BIOS during the bootup and it said "AC Adapter Type: None; eSATA Type: None", I checked the battery status and it said the battery was running normally. And then I just took out the battery and tried to run the computer on the Adapter alone. It works but doesn't charge.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I'm still unable to to charge my battery properly and I would really like to know what's wrong. I'm a college student and I use my laptop frequently from assignments. I can't really afford to have the battery diminish down to nothing and not be able to charge it again. :(
In order:
1. Try a new OEM Dell AC adapter. If that does not solve the problem,
2. Replace the DC power jack:

One of these three things is faulty.

The troubleshooting indicates that the AC adapter is not recognized in the BIOS. If the charge on the battery is more than 20% please connect the AC adapter and update the BIOS on the system for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the BIOS from BIOS section onto the system and install it.
