Hey everyone

Have had my M1710 now for just over 2 years, wish I had got the extended warranty now, but i was young and dumb and skint!  Anyways, I have been having issues with my battery and adapter pack.  About 6 - 9 months ago, it would come up with an error saying that it was the wrong type of adapter fpr the battery and would not let me progress to the XP loading screen.  The only way I could bypass it would be to take out the plug before the message came up and put it straight back in.  I have a feeling that the battery in my laptop is buggered and will need a new one, but will this work with my old adapter?  I brought a new adapter from ebay, which cost 20 quid and that charges my battery but does not keep the laptop running....

Anyway I tried to update my BIOS earlier and it is complaining because of my battery issue!!!!!

Another issue I am currently having is my screen, where I am getting lots of green vertical lines on the dell and xp loading screen, it will not let me continue, just gives the impression that the screen is burning!  Now and again it decides to work, and is fine but have problems with memory when it does decide to behave itself!

Can someone please give me a list of things I need to do to fix it pretty please!!!!!!
