Device problem! XPS M1530
Hi,
I've got an XPS M1530! My first problem was a memory problem, where they have changed my motherboard!
But now I've discovered a second one!
In my device manager I've found a conflict! Can somebody with a XPS M1530 see in his/her device list under system devices, then Intel (R) ICH8 Family SMBus Controller (Under Properties), if there is a I/O error listed !?
Please somebody!!

Thanks for the replies!
Like G4DDS has, this is a strange error!
My XPS M1530 suffers from weird lags in games, wolfenstein enemy territory plays fine, but sometimes it just stops for 2sec and then I can play again!
G4DDS do you also have some of these issues?

I have the same error. What do you have to do to fix the conflict?Mine says the same, but it isn't an error, it's just a statement. In addition no drive is loaded for this item.
The SMBus Controller is not used with recent mother boards - anything after Intel 865 chip set. That's why you see no driver loaded.
XPS M1530, Vista Home Premium SP1, T7250 Core 2 Duo (2.0 GHz 800 MHz FSB), 4 GB DDR2 667 MHz RAM, 200 GB SATA II 7200 RPM, Nvidia 8600M GT 256 MB, Wireless-N Mini-Card, BlueTooth, WSXGA+ High Def LCD (1680x1050) w/ 2 MP Camera
Dimension 9100, Dual-Boot Win XP SP2/ Vista Home Premium SP1, 3.0 GHz P4, 3 GB DDR2 533 MHz RAM, 160 GB SATA II Samsung (XP), 300 GB SATA II Seagate (Vista), 250 GB SimpleTech USB (WD Drive), Nvidia Go 6800 (425/825 MHz - XP, 400/800 MHz - Vista, Vista Driver - 169.25), Dell 1901 UltraSharp FP
Inspiron E1705, Win Vista Premium, T7200 Core 2 Duo (4MB, 2.0 GHz 667MHz), 2 GB DDR2 677 MHz RAM, 120 GB Samsung HD, Nvidia Go 7900 GS - 156.69 Driver, 17” Sharp UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-Screen WUXGAAh ok! But I've got lag issues. And I don't have a fix!
And when I was researching my system I found that! Or is an XPS M1530 with T2750 processor en 2ghz not able to play wolfenstein enemy territory and fifa08 without lag?
Like I said my frames per second are fine! But sometimes it just hangs, pretty weird! Because the lagometer of the game indicates a gap in my green line (with is frames per second). Most of the times this means there is something (hardware) that lags! And I thought about this device, because it uses conflicted I/O port!
But I don't know, may'be it's vista or so.
