Doubt regarding BIOS upgrade
Hi,
I am using Dell latitude c400. My bios version is A11. I don't have attached floppy drive or cd drive to boot. I have a usb external dvd drive with my system. There is no option in the bios to boot from the usb dvd drive. Is there that option provided in version A12. is there any danger if i download the new bios update to hard drive and install from there. I read a message posted in this forum titled "Fried bios chip". So give me good advice whether USB boot option is available in new version of bios. if it is can I safely upgrade my bios?

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
I just looked and found that the latest BIOS for this system is version A12. Since this system was produced in November of 2001, I am not certain if this function has been added to the BIOS.
