E1505 Cracked Screen
My new Inspiron E1505 has a cracked screen. Dell says my warranty won't cover it, and their price for the replacement is outrageous. My question is, are any older Dell screens compatible with the E1505 (since they are cheaper and I can buy them off Ebay) or if anyone has a suggestion for a cheaper alternative, feel free to suggest anything.

- Yeah be weary of buying off ebay but I did once buy a used screen for my sister's notebook way back (non-dell) and it worked fine. It was like $150.
And are you saying your new dell arrived with a cracked screen or your newly purchased notebook already has a crack? super_geek

If you customized it to low specifications and the total was only around $700 it might not really be worth the new screen if you are going to pay almost that much just for the screen. You risk damaging it changing out the screen and you might be better off just getting another cheap dell laptop.

Depending on the size, a new screen will run $300-600; you can remove the faulty screen, and use the manufacturer's part number to search for a suitable replacement.
