Hardware
I have been wanting to get a notebook for a while, but i dont know very much about them. I know what everything is, but i dont know much about the specifics. I customized mine, and the only things i changed was the RAM and Vista Home Premium. When i chose to get Home Premium, it wanted me to get more RAM than 512mb, so i upgraded to 1G. Is this enough or more like the minimum requirement? Another big thing is the processor. I have always used computers with intel, but this comes with AMD, which i have never heard of. I know that is has to be good, but should i consider getting one with intel. I also want a good graphics card. It only gave me one option, and is a ATI RADEON® Xpress1150 256MB HyperMemory. I know nothing about graphics cards. Since i am a gamer, i would like a notebook that has a one that isnt too much or too cheap. Is this a good card or not. Those are the only questions i have, but please give me some advice. Thx ^_^

If your gonna do any gaming you should start with the E1705 with the nvidia 7900gs graphics card. You can get away with 1 gb of ram but for better performance get 2 gb or ram. Vista works with 1gb of ram but to run Aero which is in Vista then 2gb would be better. The E1505 is not considered a great gaming machine although it will run Vista.Inspiron E1505
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 (4MB/2.00GHz/667MHz)
15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-screen WSXGA+
1GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimm
256MB ATI MOBILITY RADEON X1400
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
8X DVD+/-RW Philips Drive
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0 + EDR)
Windows XP Pro SP2
Bios A08

WRT54G Linksys router v3.1 (DD-WRT v23 SP2 std)
ZoneAlarm Pro v 6.5.737.000
Kaspersky AntiVirus v 6.0.0.300- Well to each his own, but I have an Inspiron 1501, 64bit Turion Single core 2 Ghz, @ GB Ram, with the ATI X1150 Integrated Graphics 256 Hypermemory and I ahve been playing The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion without any problems in Vista. Of course I did have to use the "Oldblivion patch " but Oblivion is a very graphic intense game. Just my 2 cents. The AMD based 1501 is a very capable machine. It also seems to have much fewer problems with Vista than some of the more gaming based notebooks. Read the forums, I see hardly any issues posted by the 1501 users.pcgeek11
