I've been given a part number for the touchpad, but it is nowhere to be found!  Sad my laptop from Dell only lasts less than 3 years because of a touchpad flaw.  And I really thought they could compete with Mac (I have two which are 10 years old and still mechanically function perfectly).

It's part #2HFGW after 45 minutes of talking to three dell tech support.   Anyone know if this part exists outside of china websites?
