Num Lock on E5400
I want to be able to type easily letters with umlauts and cannot see how to turn on the Num Lock key to be able set up the keyboard

If you only need some "Umlauts" like ä,ö,ü then just add a second language,in my example the German one.You can then switch between the languages.
If your intention is to use "Alt" in combination with a number - for instance "Alt & 92" == backslash - and your laptop is missing the NumPad you may try
the suggestion given in the video
