Shattered screen!

My daughter's cat broke her laptop screen.

The screen is shattered.

I think she has a 15" screen.

What can she do?

Can the glass part be ordered and self replaced?

About how much would that cost if so?

It is no longer under warranty.

She is devastated!

Depending on the resolution, a new 15" screen will run between $350 and $500 plus the labor to install. A used screen will run half that, with the risk that comes with any used part.

The screen can be replaced if you have some skills. Some models are harder than others. Search for your model and see what screens are going for. You may be able to do yourself. If the laptop is not mobile, a desktop lcd is usually an easier route.
