Strange Power Problem

Hi Guys,
Yesterday night while working with my laptop (Inspiron 8600,XP-Pro), I got warning window saying that Please switch to your AC power plug in becoz battery is totally discharged. I pressed power button for 10 seconds and the system was shudown( I did not go to Start--> Shutdown)

Today evening I plugged in AC adapter to my laptop and pressed power button for 10 seconds. Battery lights are glowing on the right side, but capslock, num lock, scroll lock LEDs are not glowing and on top of that system is  never turned on. I tried several times, no luck. It never turned on.Please let me know if you have solution for this problem. I am eagerly waiting for you answer.

I have tried that one too. I gave my patop in CompUSA for service. After diagnotising, they told me that fault is with motherboard and needs to be raplaced with new one which is worth of 400 dollars. Could any one of users suggest me that shall I go for new motherboard ( warranty is 1 month) or dump the laptop in trash?
