I've got a dell vostro 1500 laptop and I'm serious worried about it overheating. From the minute windows boots up the fan is constantly on and most of the time hot air is coming out of the vents (even when windows is idle). I've tried to solve the problem by completely reinstalling windows (I have installed the latest updates and drivers) but this has not solved the problem.

My first question how do I check the temperature of the cpu and gpu (i've already tried looking in the BIOS) ?

I've thought about opening it up and having a look but the service manual tells me to remove the screen as one of the steps which I don't want to do because I'm scared I may break something.

Whats the best solution for this problem?
