You need to explain what computer model, what icon you mean and what sound program. Vista sound drivers are still a work in progress. Keep checking your sound card manufacturer's site for updates. no I don't need to explain all that. If you knew what you were doing, then you would know what the "wave out" icon is in a computer. My computer model has nothing to do with the "wave out" icon.  There, you learned something today.

I want my drivers. I should not have to purchase an additional sound card and take up a PC slot in my computer since the DELL computer is suppose to come with drivers that make the sound card work. And they didn't.

I understand your frustration but do you have to take it out on those trying to help you?  I know the answer you are looking for because I just went through this.  I am inclined not to help someone who lashes out at someone trying to help.  There, you just learned something today.

DELL are LIARS. Dell has no intention of giving back the "wave out" feature. DELL just wants you to buy a new sound card from them. They LIED. They will NEVER give you back your "stereo mix" feature. I returned my computer because DELL LIED.

where are our sound card drivers Dell? Dell crippled our integrated sound card for sigmatel so we don't have the wave out mixer in our brand new vista dell computers we buy. Dell is forcing people to buy brand new sound cards if we want sound and wave out.

 

Dell lied. There is no update for drivers soon that will give us that wave out mixer feature back. DELL LIED!!

They(MS) Changed the Whole Audio Stack. Not Dell.

That's not the point.  The point is there is a fix out there because Dell is sending it out with Vista upgrades.  They are not, however, taking care of those of us who bought a PC with Vista preinstalled.

It is not a Vista issue. It is a Dell problem. All the other computer manufacturer's give the audio "wave out" feature with the Vista computer. Dell crippled the drivers that come with Vista. I dont' know why people have have to come on here and lie, but it is a DELL issue. Not a Vista issue. Nothing wrong with Vista. In fact, Vista makes the audio more better to work with than the previous XP. Dell released fixes for their other Vista computers but they didnt' release a fix for people who bought the Dell preinstalled. It takes a 30 minutes to program new auido drivers to include the "wave out" in Vista.
