Wireless ????

My wireless picks up my router at home, but will not pick up anywhere else. When I try to see available networks, it doesn't find any, even my own. Someone advised me to be sure I am letting Microsoft manage my wireless connections. How do I check to make sure it is?
Thanks,

When I click on start, there is no "show available wireless networks" to click on.

I don't follow what you are telling me. "click it to place check mark" makes no sense to me since ther is no checkmark box there.

Lets try this a different way,at the bottom right corner in task bar right click on your intel pro set wireless. When this box opens at the top click the view wireless connections tab,(thier should be 3 tabs it is the center one.)ok at the top of this window to the left it says let windows control this device if thier is a check mark thier windows is controlling,if not click the box to put the check mark in.Now at this point windows will be controlling wireless?
