Dimension 2350 Onboard Video Problem

Hi,

My Dimension 2350 is giving me trouble.  When I turn it on, the power light, diagnostic lights, NIC light, all go on properly.  I can hear the hard drive engage, and it seems to sound the same as it always did in the past.  The problem is that I am getting no display on my monitor.

I have tried various monitors, but none work.  I have also tried putting in a video card, but it also doesn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

    Are you saying that all 4 diagnostic lights are green following startup?

    Hi,

    Yes.  All 4 diagnostic lights are green.

    fangsouth,

    If the monitor passes the selftest, then the onboard video card is bad.

    Self-Test Feature Check (STFC) -
    Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check if your monitor is functioning properly. Run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:

    * Turn off both your computer and the monitor
    * Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer. Remove the monitor Analog (blue connector) and/or DVI (white connector) cable from the back of computer
    * Turn on the monitor
    * The floating 'Dell - self-test Feature Check' dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background). While in self-test mode, the power LED remains green and the self-test pattern will scroll through the screen continually
    * How does it look?

    Hi,

    I do not have a Dell monitor.  I have been using a couple other monitors to test this computer.  Both monitors work on other computers I own, but not on the Dimension.  I have tested it using an older monitor, and a newer flat screen monitor I purchased.
