E196FP blurry text FIXED

Well I can't promise anything for the rest of you, but I found a fix for mine.

I had the same problem everyone else did. Hook it up to the analog output of my Radeon 9700 Pro, and the text was borderline unacceptable. I also have a Dell 1901 digital LCD, and it's always looked gorgeous.

First let me say I did not load the CD that came with the E196FP.

The first thing to tip me off was the fact the monitor was reporting a smaller res and the wrong refresh rate. So I downloaded the latest Omega drivers for my video card (Omega drivers are awesome for gaming).

After a reboot, the monitor looks like my 1901. I mean the text is PERFECT. I still had it go through it's auto adjust mode, since it was a little off to the side. It auto adjusted perfectly also.

Let me tell you guys, the text on both monitors is excellent. I still have to toy around and match the brightness and such but I'm very happy.

So if you don't mind running some non-Dell-proven drivers, give them a try, it worked for me.

Here is a pic I took. The swirls and such are not visible to the naked eye, only picked up by cameras, it's the same for all monitors.

Before you ship yours back, give the Omega drivers a shot.

You can send your thanks to my paypal since I just saved you a boatload of money hahaha

Of course, anyone with any blurry monitor can also try the drivers. I was just searching for help for my monitor and noticed it was especially notorious.

Glad to know the monitor is just fine and only requires new drivers. In my case anyway.
