Hi, I made a thread about it a few months ago. http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_monitor&message.id=85063&query.id=201652#M85063 From the previous thread: I brought the 19' Monitor 2 years ago with my desktop. Now, the power button is stuck and the screen is dead. My desktop warranty is expired but is there a separate warranty for the monitor? Does anyone know how to fix the stuck power button? Thanks. I misplaced the order information and I tried the tag number on the desktop and it was out of warranty. Is there another method to setup the exchange? Message Edited by ktot17 on 01-17-2008 11:28 AM
Which model do you have? It is not likely the button is stuck as you get no response when pressing it. That would indicate a power problem inside the monitor. If you have electronic repair skills, you can open up the monitor and attempt repair. If not try an electronics repair shop, not a pc repair shop
But you said that "A monitor purchased with a computer before 12/12/2005 has a 3 year warranty or uses the longer computer warranty" I brought it before that date.
Please provide me with the following information in a private message so I can check the warranty status -
Name:
Shipping address:
Phone:
Order number and/or Service tag number:
20 digit PPID number on the back of the monitor:
Reason:
I don't have the order information but I have the service tag number to the desktop which was brought along with the monitor and the number in the back of the monitor. Is that sufficient?

* No. The monitor carries the PC warranty when purchased together.
