PLEASE I beg someone, Driver problem!

I never thought after 23 years of computing I would be asking for some help to locate a Driver.

I purchased this LCD Monitor from a friend who is elderly and lost the driver disk for it. I cannot find it anywhere, as far as I can see this monitor doesn't exist.

Can someone please direct, I spent 2 hours last night and I'm buggered if I'm gonna do it again!

AOC LCD Monitor

PRODUCT NAME: 193XW

Model Number: LW98 [CR}

Q40G19E-615-22A XY

The above is written on the back and all I have to go by.

Actually, I haven't seen where the driver helps if the Plug 'n Play Monitor driver is already being used. It pulls the settings from the DDC channel, so the INF is kinda redundant.
    Looks like a 19", so 1024x768 @ 60Hz. done (for senior eyes).

I agree with avldwx, unless this is some kind of weird make or model, you should be able to access the full functionality of the monitor through plug and play. I have never had to install drivers for a display device before. Unless it has some kind of special features or you can't access the full range of display resolutions, you probably don't need the drivers.

Also, are you sure that the model number wasn't 193SW or 193FW? Google searched really quick and found an ftp site, drivers are available for those two models. Try it here:
    ftp://ftp.aoc-europe.de/Drivers/LCD-monitors

You should at least try the 193SW drivers, it looks at least similar in spec. You may also have a model made for a different region; It looks like they have an international web site (Google search "AOC Monitors"), try searching the foreign sites for your specific model.

Never know, your monitor might be a cheap Chinese knockoff ;). A Google search for that specific model doesn't return anything very reliable.

Sorry I found this account out because i forgot my password, Mr Underpants is my post.

Sorry for confusion The reason I wanted the [bonified] driver is I'm getting horizontal shadowing and I have tried to adjust the screen colour setting and cannot get rid of it. I figured if I got hold of the CORRECT driver at least I could eliminate this part of the puzzle

If I have a white screen with a black square in the middle I get a shadow emminating from the right and left sides, the further from the black square then the shadow is less, if i move the square it follows.

First off I figured it was black point saturation or colour setting but I cannot get rid, any ideas on this would be appreciated as the monitor is under guarantee at the moment BUT there would be no sense in changing it if the next one would do the same. But as its a guarantee I need to know now before it runs out

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated

I think that has more to do with a bad vid signal coming from the a poor vid card, poor cable, poor monitor. downgrading resolution/refresh helps because the components can more easily carry the less video information. so try 60Hz, then bump down the resolution. are you using a vga extension cable? are you using a DVI->VGA adapter? or try one if not. it's an analog signal prob.
