I have a Networker 761 environment running on W2k8.

I'm having a problem on an exchange bkup with intermittant failures when directing the bkups over a specific storage node. I have a number of exchange servers but all will fail on 1 or more storage groups if I use this storage node. Backups occur over ethernet.

The system cannot find the path specified.

On Xch server the failure entry in xbsa.messages is:

XBSA-1.0.1 LNMs_2008.Build.274 3532 Thu Jun 09 01:27:41 2011  _nwbsa_close_create_object_session: System detected error due to savefile_fini() failure, typically caused by bad network hardware (NICs, routers, etc). Operation aborted

If I direct the backup to use nsrserverhost or another storage node it will complete successfully.

There are no event log entries on the problematic storage node at the time of the failure. My network team has checked out switch/ports etc and given it a clean bill of health.

I've compared the healthy storage node to the problematic and found nothing immediate springs out at me. Both are the same model servers, same OS version, same version of NW, same onboard broadcom nic, same driver version. Same speed settings (on the switch also).

Do you know of anything else I could try to find my problem ?
