I'm kinda of new to the Dell Managed Switches, so please forgive me for my basic question.
We have a Dell PowerConnect 5324 switch in our environment and I'm trying to debug the IP traffic on a specific interface (g24) just as you would on a Cisco switch. The problem that I'm having is that once I type the debug-mode command, and then the debug command I'm prompted for a Password. Well after searching through the User Guide or the CLI guide I wasn't able to discover what would be the default password in order to enter the debug terminal, or if there's a way to configure a new password to enter the debug command.
Could anyone please provide some guidance on how I can enter the Debug Terminal?
The debug mode on current PowerConnect switches is not a real-time debug similar to that found on most Cisco devices. It is primarily intended to be a method for software engineers to look at the memory registers to debug software problems. The interface is not user-friendly and there is no documentation on how to navigate it.
If you would still like to be provided with the debug password, please contact technical support via phone at (800) 822-8965 and follow the prompts for Server and PowerConnect.
If you could share details on the device you need assistance with, the OS it is running, and the troubleshooting steps already taken, it would be helpful. If you need assistance with the PowerConnect 5324, you can find the relevant manuals linked below.
