Is anyone experiencing difficulty connecting wirelessly to the internet when bridging two Dell True Mobile Routers.  If so are there any solutions???

    Hi

Wireless bridging works fine for me.

i will  just list the steps ,make sure that  u followed these steps correctly.

    1. First get both the routers each other. Now connect one computer to the first router with a cable.(dont use wireless ,sometimes it could pick up other routers router page!!!)

    2. Turn on the first router and make sure that  you are able to get on to the internet., Open your web browser and go to my.router(or the default address  http:// 192.168.2.1).

    3. Goto Basic settings - wireless settings and write down the "ssid" and "channel" , If you enabled WEP make sure that you have the correct WEP key ( i would reccomend Please turn off the WEP)

    4. goto device status and write down the lan mac address.

    5. Now turn off the First router and turn on the second router.

    6. Open your web browser and go tomy.router(or the default address http:// 192.168.2.1)

    7. Make sure that here we have the same "ssid" and "channel" and also the same WEP key if you have any !

    8. goto device status and write down the lan mac address

    9. Click the Advanced  settings  - Advaned  wireless button , make sure that " enable wireless is checked" and "advanced options" uncheked.

    10. Enable Wireless Bridge.

    11. Enter the Wireless MAC address of the other Dell TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router in the first box.

    12. click on submit. , Now click on Basic settings - change the router mode to access point mode. click next -next -next and click save and restart.

    13. Now again click on advanced settings - DHCP server settings - and uncheck "Enable DHCP server functions"

    14. click submit and turn off the router.

    15. Now turn on the first router

    16. Click the Advanced  settings  - Advaned  wireless button , make sure that " enable wireless is checked" and "advanced options" uncheked.

    17. Enable Wireless Bridge.

    18. Enter the Wireless MAC address of the other Dell TrueMobile 2300 Wireless Broadband Router in the first box.(this is the lan mac address you wrote down from the device status)

    19. Now shut down everything. computers ,routers and modem.

    20. Now first turn on the modem thn the first router then second router and turn on the computers.

    21. If the bridging is correct the wireless light on the first router will go off and the wireless light on the second router will come on.

    22. Now check we are abel to get on to the internet from the computer hardwired to the second router.

    23. If yes , then we can unlpugg the second router and we can keep  it the place where we want the wireless connection.

    24. And the wireless briding should work perfect.

    25. (One more suggesion is ,please make sure that the place we are going to keep the second router ,should atleast receive a low signal strength from the first one. Then only it can boost the signal.Dont think that after configuring the bridging we can keep the second router anywhere!!!!! :-)

    Regards.

    Mark,

Do you need to uncheck the enable dhcp server fnt on the access router only?  Alos why does this need to be done and if it is not done will it adversely affect the bridging connectivity??

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Rob,

Its not necessery to uncheck the dhcp server in access point ,When we check the routr as an access point the DHCP server will be automatically off, but why i mentioned there becoz just to be on the safer side that the dhcp is unchecked so  that the AP will not transmit the IP over the network and eventually that will bring the network down!
