Do you intend to use a wired broadband service?  If so, you need an Ethernet card.  What type of Dell system do you have?  If iti s new, then more than likely you already have one installed.

More than likely that system has an integrated NIC card on it.  Run Belarc advisor from www.belarc.com and it will give you an inventory of the system including all software and hardware components.

Did you run the program, if so, and read it thoroughly, the resulting scan will show you every component by category.
